The scenario of the world is constantly changing. The changes that unfold around us are unprecendented. Among the causes of the changes are the reasons for the development of the technological aspects, social, economic and political. As a result, the integrity of a nation, whether Muslims or non-Muslims, are put to the test.

Today, Muslims are present all over the world. The diversity of the culture and ideology of Islam pose a formidable challenge to the establishment of understanding and interpretation of Islam as a religion and a complete way of life.

Islam is a religion based on the Quran and Sunnah. It includes a comprehensive system of life by being open, dynamic and tolerant.

In their enthusiasm to restore the former glory of Islamic civilisation, Muslims are now faced with a variety of elements that are contrary to the teachings of Islam. Coupled with information misinterpreted by the media, it has given a negative impact on Muslims.

The Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM) was established to provide a genuine understanding of Islam to maintain the purity of Islamic teachings without the rhetoric or deviant from the designated path.
